About Us

      The Lyon Scientific Foundation, established in 1918 by industry leaders of the region, was granted a "not-for-profit" Foundation status by law on February 28th, 1919.

The Foundation’s mission is to promote a better scientific education that will contribute to an industrial, economic and social development of the Lyon Region.

A venue for exchange, dialogue and projects, the Lyon Scientific Foundation brings together the scientific, economic and civil society communities.

The Lyon Scientific Foundation is the founding organisation of BioVision, the World Life Sciences Forum created in 1999 by Raymond Barre, former French Prime Minister.  Every two years, BioVision gathers more than 3000 delegates from 75 countries and has become the most attended international dialogue platform on Life Sciences. It mobilises foremost specialists along with policy makers, members of government, ethicists, decision-makers, researchers, consumer representatives, patients associations, NGOs & media, with the aim of fostering open debate and exchange between Science, Society at Large and Industry.

 SAS BioEvents, created in 2001, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lyon Scientific Foundation.

BioEvents founded BioSquare, a biotech partnering conference taking place in a yearly basis and gathering 1500 participants from the industrial world.

BioSquare strengths rely mainly on its very high quality of participants. Indeed, top business executives from biotech, industrial developers from large corporations as well as high ranking financiers gather at BioSquare to make business.
